Student Discount Out Of Nowhere!

Sometimes things just have a way of blindsiding you!  I have been a T-Mobile customer for over 7 years now, dating back to the time that they were still called Voicestream!  I been using the Sidekick as my phone of choice for the past 6 years, switching from new model to model every few years.  I feel its the best bang for your buck, considering I get unlimited internet, email, texting, and instant messaging, along with 600 anytime minutes and free nights and weekends, for a total of $66 after taxes! Most people I know pay that amount just for their voice usage every month!

Over the last 6 months, my SidekickID has been failing me big time.  I bought it on eBay (after getting hosed on craigslist) and it has been pretty reliable up until recently.  You know your phone is breaking when you are receiving missed calls and voice mails WITHOUT the phone ringing at all.  To make matters worse, the fiancee has been on me wondering why I don’t pick up her calls.  My reason?  The phone is not ringing all the time!  The last thing I want to do is get my wifey thinking I am avoiding her calls.

I went over to the T-Mobile last night and picked up a new Sidekick 2008.  I was considering the newest version of the phone, but I could not justify the $100 difference between two phones that had the same features.  I compare it to buying Madden every year, the only thing that really changes is the player rosters for the game!

Back to the topic of the phone, I now have a fully functional mint condition Sidekick 2008.  To make things even better, I struck up a conversation with the sales representative and she informed me that I was eligible for a 15% monthly discount because I am an enrolled student at a qualifying university!  So not only do I now have a good phone that rings every time someone calls, but I am also going to be paying almost $9 less per month!  All because I finally decided to upgrade my phone game.  I know what you are thinking, get an iPhone right?  I will stop blogging before I purchase that thing and I do not plan to stop writing anytime soon!

Wow, that is awesome! Any savings is a good savings, good cust. service on Tmobile's end. Heck I've been with Sprint almost 7 years and I doubt I would get that. Yeah the IPhone costs an arm and a leg and u don't get insurance on it!

@Dina Haansley – Thats my biggest thing w/ the iPhone, high price of phone and no insurance! You should harrass sprint a little to see what you can get out of them!

@Lulu – I was contemplating getting the G1, but i just couldnt justify the increase in price plan, esp since I barely use my minutes! Banging phone tho!
