I sit here writing this post to you as my legs twitch and my arms shake. No, I am not sitting in the cold in my boxers or overdosing on speed (do people even take speed anymore?). I am one anxious 26 year old child who can not wait to get out of work, pack my bags, and board a plane to Las Vegas this evening. Those
One of my close buddies got engaged recently and is having an extremely short turn around time for his wedding... say ... November! I have the pleasure of participating in the last single fling for this guy and the planners did an amazing job of having it in Las Vegas. With my wedding still more than 8 months away, I explained to my fiancee that this trip is more than just a bachelor party, it is a research trip for me to see if I want to go to Las Vegas for MY BACHELOR PARTY!
While she shot down my attempt to make a scientific contribution to research, I booked my ticket a few months ago and D-Day has finally arrived with 16 of us invading the shores of Vegas (Or just the pool area?). I am still shaking as I type.
I am going to keep a running tab of what I spend the entire trip, similar to what I have done in the past and similar to what Map Girl did last weekend on her trip to NYC. I have gone on bachelor parties in the past and had frugal trips to Atlantic City casinos as well, but let's get serious, this is Las Vegas! I am going to do my best to be financially thrifty but not at the expense of having a good time. This is one of those weekends where I want to have a good time, I want to make sure everyone else has a good time, and most importantly, I want to make sure the bachelor has a good time.
So here is a list of expenses so far and I have not even left Philly yet! Stay tuned for an update when I get back. However, if you really want be entertained and see what dumb stuff I am doing out in Vegas, Follow me via Twitter all weekend, I garuntee you will be laughing!
- Plane ticket - $320 (non-stop both ways booked 2 months ago.. DING!)
- 4 Nights in Vegas Suite w/ liquor - $360 (We have two LARGE suites at an exquisite hotel)
- 1 prepaid dinner at nice resteraunt - $75 (I have to wear a jacket, which means I have to borrow one)
- Party fund - $200 (Covers 2 nights of transportation, cover, table service)
- Current expense total: $955
Hope everyone has a good weekend but I highly doubt you will be enjoying life more than I will be. I am not trying to brag, more that I am going to just cherish some time away from home to relax and breath in that good Las Vegas dry heat. Be easy, stay tweeting, and have a safe weekend!
