Ten to fifteen years ago, when people roamed the Earth without cell phones, life was a whole lot simpler. All phone communication was done from you home or your office and that is it. No mobile phones, internet phones, text messaging, or even internet! But now society has built an insanely large reliance on cell phones and instant two way communications.
My life at the present moment is the perfect example. Thanks to a T-Mobile Sidekick Data Outage, I have been without my address book and data services on my T-Mobile Sidekick since last Friday! Yes, that means I went my entire trip in Las Vegas without my address book. This totally solidified the notion that What Happens In Vegas Stayed In Vegas! I just bought this phone last Wednesday too and was just getting acquainted with it. Every month I barely dent the 600 Anytime Minutes that I pay for because I am a texting maniac. I average around 7,000 text messages sent and received every month! That is a lot of thumb action (Get your mind out the guttter)!
I really do feel naked without my address book. I have been receiving text messages from numbers all week and every time I have to annoy the sender by asking them who it is. T-Mobile's server crash is still in the process of being restored, they even credited me one month's worth of data services ($20). There are people out there that are even more hostile and angry than I am, which tells me that this world is full of crazy people! It just demonstrates more the dependency we have on such items as phones, what better time to realize it than when that service is removed?
Moral of the story? Back up your contacts. Then you wont be going crazy like me!

Ouch. Yeah for real, back them bad boys up! I had an auto. one set up on Verizon that worked nicely as I constantly broke my phones. It would take me 2 mins to get them all back on again.
I'm now on the trendy iPhone, but not sure what they have for backup options? Either way, I hope it doesn't happen again my friend!
@J - Backing up your stuff on the iPhone is easy, you either use Google Sync or you can actually back it all up via iTunes!!
I did get good news from Tmobile, stating that Microsft fixed the server problem and recovered all the data. Just have to wait now for everything to come back!
